Raises $17,000 for Charity

The celebration commemorating a quarter of a century of fun, friendship, and charitable giving featured a Locked Treasures Raffle, Silent Auction with 46 items, gourmet dinner, I-Movie, and dancing to DJ JB Baxter from More than Music.The event raised $17,000 to benefit LWRWC’s four adopted 501(c)(3) charities: Hope Family Services, Solve Maternity Homes, Sarasota Manatee Association of Riding Therapy (SMART), and Children’s Guardian Fund (CGF).

In her opening remarks, Event Chair, Monika Templeman sited the considerable losses suffered by the adopted charities as a result of the hurricane, which compounded the problems caused by the pandemic. “Now, more than ever, our adopted charities need our help to continue the vital work that they do!”, she said.  Monika thanked her entire Committee for their invaluable support with special thanks to Helene Levin, Kathleen Cleveland, Allyson Sokol, Janet Dobbs, Regina Joly, Irene Shatz, Patti Wrobel, Laurie Fox, Trish Newman, and Carol Kleinman for going above and beyond to help make this charity fundraiser a success.

Humanitarian Awards Presented

Humanitarian Awards were presented on behalf of the Women’s Club to Executive Directors; Laurel Lynch (HOPE), Peggy Kerwin (Solve), Rebecca Blitz (SMART) and Svetlana Ivashchenko (CGF), and to Platinum Benefactor Sponsor Laurie Fox, Coldwell Banker Realty, and Joseph Adamchak, Senior Vice President, Adamchak & Associates Wealth Management – Merrill Lynch, for their unprecedented support of our LWRWC adopted Charities since 2015.

Carol Belmont, LWRWC President, presented the 2022 Woman of the Year Award to Irene Shatz for her outstanding accomplishments as the Cultural Donations Chair for our 25th Birthday Celebration and the last four LWRWC Charity Fundraisers.
