Nate’s Honor Rescue at April Meeting
The LWRWC General Meeting on Thursday, April 13, 2023, featured guest speaker Rob Oglesby from Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, an eight-acre, no-kill shelter, and adoption facility on Lorraine Road.
Rob Oglesby and his family have been involved with Nate’s for over 15 years. Rob started as a volunteer for the organization, and then, for the past several years, he has served as President of Nate’s Board.
Since 2008, Nate’s has been dedicated to helping neglected, abandoned, and mistreated dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Together with a staff of volunteers and a supportive community, Nate’s has saved thousands of homeless and at-risk animals each year.
Rob showed the members the new facility plan that will include 10,000 square feet for the front building that will house the welcome center, an interactive children education room, a Belgium waffle ice cream shop, a vet clinic (that will be open to the public), a dentist, a groomer, and a small retail space selling leashes, collars, crates and beds. Rob stated that the Capital Campaign raised $10 million dollars, but they are shy $2.7 million dollars to complete the project.
LWRWC Program Chair, Carol Belmont, arranged the evening of fun, friendship, and furry friends.
