A Message From Your
We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times!
The board has been meeting periodically using ZOOM. Although it is not business as usual, it helps us to keep in touch and try to plan for the rest of the year. Since Town Hall will be closed at least until May, and it is highly recommended that we stay in unless absolutely necessary, all meetings, programs, monthly lunches, and Special Interest Groups activities have been cancelled until you hear from us.
We have still been able to accomplish a few tasks. We are very proud of our LWRWC Sewing Group! There are approximately 15 women who have been sewing masks for Lakewood Ranch Hospital. To date we have delivered over 250 masks, and we are still sewing. Through the generous donation of fabric from Val Wheat who owns Running With Scissors, we were able to provide fabric to make these masks
Val has an apparel Design Studio on Lena Road. She does custom embroidery, embroidered apparel, and logo digitalization. Her picture is included along with two of our many sewers, Jan Howard and Ann Sledz, proudly displaying the masks they made! Many members have also donated material and elastic. THANK YOU, LADIES and THANK YOU to Keith Pandelogou, Executive Director of Lakewood Ranch Community Activities who put us in touch with Val Wheat!
I would like to recognize all ladies who sewed masks for LWR Hospital in our next letter to members. If you made masks, please email your name and picture to me at HLevin@lwrwc.org
A BIG THANK YOU also goes out to the many women who brought food, packaged snacks, and drinks to the staff at the Hospital. Everyone there is so very appreciative!!! Both masks and food are still needed. All donations can be delivered to the Emergency Room Entrance at the hospital.
