LWRWC Celebrates 25th Birthday at May Meeting

The LWRWC celebrated it’s 25th birthday on May 12, 2022 at the May meeting held at LWR Town Hall. The party featured a PowerPoint Presentation with a tribute to LWRWC former Presidents and a Historical Overview of Lakewood Ranch and the Women’s Club which have both grown exponentially over the years.

LWRWC Vice President Ann Sledz, opened the celebration meeting with a warm greeting to all and a special welcome to the 15 Past Presidents in attendance. Barb Thornton, LWRWC hospitality chair, served birthday cake decorated with the LWRWC Motto and logo. Ann then introduced the PowerPoint Productions and Presentation Team, Helene Levin, and Monika Templeman.

After the well-received presentation, Ann presented a dozen beautiful yellow roses to each of the Past Presidents in attendance.

Starting with 20 members in 1997, LWRWC now averages around 300 members annually. On Wednesday, Oct.12, 2022, the LWRWC will hold their 25th Birthday Celebration Dinner Dance Charity Fundraiser that will feature an I-movie showcasing 25 years of Fun, Friendship, and Community Service.

For a quarter of a century, the Women’s Club has been making a significant difference in the Lakewood Ranch community. To date, LWRWC donated over $500,000 in cash and in-kind to our adopted charities, HOPE Family Services, SMART Riding Therapy,Solve Maternity Homes & Children’s Guardian Fund.
