Cosponsored Art Sale Raised $1800 for Charity
On Saturday March 11, 2023, Lakewood Ranch Women’s Club and LWR Art League cosponsored a Charity Art Sale held at LWR Townhall. The sale benefited Sarasota Association of Riding Therapy (SMART) and Save The Children – Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund. The fundraiser featured beautiful artwork donated by award-winning Art League artists and offered for sale at unbelievably low prices. Due to a good turnout by the LWRWC, in just over two hours, the art sale raised over $1800 to donate to both charities.

The event was a collaborative effort and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the two 501(c)(3) charities. SMART, is dedicated to enhancing the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of children and adults with special needs, including children with autism, PTSD veterans, and human trafficking victims, through quality educational and therapeutic horseback riding and carriage driving programs.
Save The Children – Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund provides life-saving services to Ukrainian children, in response to the plight of 7.5 million kids who are in danger of physical harm, emotional distress, and displacement due to the invasion in Ukraine. The fund is used to help Ukrainian families meet their basic needs such as food, medicine and shelter and help Ukrainian children get access to education and psychosocial support.
