The Lakewood Ranch Women’s Club held its annual Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon on February 22 at Michael’s on East, Sarasota. Fashions were provided by THE MET Fashion House Spa and Salon, coordinated by Heather Smith, General Manger and featured timeless and sophisticated designs from around the globe in a fast-paced show.
LWR Women’s Club members and friends gathered at 11:30 AM in the MOE Atrium wearing their favorite hats, sipping on fine wine and chatting with friends. Before the show, members and guests enjoyed an elegant lunch by award winning Michael’s on East renowned for its superior cuisine and excellent service.
The Fashion Show co-chairs, Jackie Boege and Wilma Nourie, supervised the event with the help of committees chairs: Julie Smith, reservations; Marian Wolfe, decorations; Jean Muccini, publicity and program; Pattie Wrobel, models; Jan Hassler, raffle cooridinator. Frankie Bailey, president of the Women’s Club, presented opening remarks and introductions.
Models were selected from the membership and included several former presidents of the Women’s Club in recognition of the club’s 15th birthday year. Included in the models were four gentlemen wearing THE MET’s men’s fashion line.
This annual event benfits the Women’s Club charities: SMART (Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy), SOLVE Maternity Homes, Meals on Wheels Plus, and HOPE Family Services. Charity representives presented informational displays on the atrium upper level.
