The weather was cooperative and buyers and sellars alike enjoyed a perfect October Florida day of bright sun and low humidity. One hundred fifty [150] residents hauled their excess household goods out to the garage and driveway and offered bargains to hundreds of visitors.

To participate in the garage sale, residents purchase a $5 permit available at LWR Town Hall prior to the sale. This small fee covers the cost of advertising in the major publications and the cost of signs which are posted at the marquees of participating neighborhoods on the day of the sale.

Signs were posted by members of the LWRWC: Barbara Thornton, Susie Seashore Rife, Mary Button, Judy Pirro, and Frankie Bailey. Frankie Bailey, Garage Sale Chair, reported that every neighborhood in all three villages was represented in this year’s sale. The WC sponsors two garage sales each year, March and October; this is only time that the HOA’s permit garage sales in LWR.
