The LWR Women’s Club’s Fashion Show Fundraiser Luncheon “Bewitching Glamour” was held at Michaels on East in Sarasota on Wednesday, Oct 28, 2015. This event is the Club’s largest charity fundraiser of the year and supports the critical needs of the Club’s three 501(c)(3) adopted charities: 1) Hope Family Services of Manatee County (for victims of domestic violence); 2) SMART (Sarasota Manatee Riding Therapy); and 3) Solve Maternity Homes.
With a sold-out crowd in attendance, it truly represented the fun, friendship and community service that signifies the Lakewood Ranch Women’s Club. Add exciting, trendy fashions from Foxy Lady in St. Armand’s Circle and a gourmet luncheon at Michaels on East and you have a glamourous recipe that puts the fun in fundraising.
The models, LWRWC members and representatives from the three charities, rocked the runway in an array of glamourous garb from Foxy Lady. [<< See sidebar for highlights <<] Jodi Frauhiger, (General Manager and buyer for the Foxy Lady Store in ST. Armands Circle, provided relevant commentary.
Committee member Carolynne Shumate, event photographer, served also as the talent scout coordinator. Thanks to Carolynne, the ambience was enhanced with beautiful live music performed by three very talented young ladies from LWR High School who will play violin, viola and cello.
The models looked amazing courtesy of complimentary hair styling donated by Cutting Loose Salon and makeup by individual Mary Kay Consultants, Willeen Buchholz, Denise Holland, Debbie Landis and Kavita Ramsaran.
The models representing the charities included Peggy Kerwin, Executive Director of Solve Maternity Homes, Vicki Clark from SMART and Candi Russell representing Hope Family Services. The LWRWC models included Patti Wrobel, Shirley Taradash, Trish Newman (who also served as Silent Auction and Raffle MC), Donna Beck Smith, Linda McGrath, Marian Wolfe, Carole Booher, Eileen Yarmolyk, Carleen Fulks, Valerie Grimwood and Monika Templeman.
